Get Fined £70 For Parking on a Cerb



Inconsiderate motorists who are mounting kerbs and parking could be soon banned from doing so and face a £70 fine.

Pedestrians are currently forced onto the road when drivers obstruct the pavements. This can be extremely dangerous especially those on Mobility Scooters, people with guide dogs and parents with pushchairs.

The law that is currently in place in London reads like this: “You must not park partially or wholly on the pavement. Parking on the pavement can obstruct and seriously inconvenience pedestrians, people in wheelchairs or with visual impairments and people with prams or pushchairs.”

Outside of the capital however, motorists are only banned from parking on single or double yellow lines or where local signs indicate pavement parking will cause an obstruction to pedestrians.

Even though it is illegal to drive on the pavements in the UK, the authorities are concerned that if they do act on this, motorists will displace the problem somewhere else.

The only current way that authorities are able to catch offenders is by observing them park and act on it accordingly which can be very expensive and time-consuming.

So if the local authorities get their way, what will happen with all of the money from the fines? The Local Government Association (LGA) has claimed that the funds raised from it could be used to repair kerbs, damaged pavements and verges.

It has been announced that the new Vauxhall Vivaro is now available to order with customers able to take delivery later on this year, most likely during the summer. Sources claim that you can get your hands on one of these medium sized vans from £21,240 (CVOTR) but ill be officially announced at the CV Show in Birmingham in April 2019. Ford extend payment holidays until September

Ford of Britain have decided to extend its offering of six-month payment holidays to new van buyers in a bid to keep customers buying new commercial vehicles during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is called the Ford ‘Peace of Mind’ programme and was initially launched to run through April and May of this year but they soon decided to extend it until the end of June. Premier Commercial Vehicles can now confirm that the programme is set to run until the end of September 2020. The scheme allows customers to defer the first three payments (after they part with the initial deposit) of their finance agreement. Then the following three payments will be covered by Ford in one single payment, capped at £750 - £1,600, depending on which vehicle the customer has.
