Popularity for medium vans has increased dramatically over the past 5 years and so have the models offered. Thanks to better fuel economy and a sensible driving position, these workhorses are boasting some of the best sales figures of any vehicle sector.
Considering everybody is shouting about electric and hybrid vehicles, diesel is still the go-to power source because it offers the best performance and efficiency. That being said, the next few years may see a different turn of events as Ford are launching their hybrid Transit Custom while Volkswagen are going straight to an all-electric e-Transporter that could be making an appearance in the UK as early as 2020.

The old Vivaro was co-developed with Renault, a van that is also seen in the form of a Nissan and Fiat model. And that’s not all, Mitsubishi are also taking on the design in the near future.
Volkswagen and Ford offer their own vans however these two giants will be joining forces for their next versions of the Transit Custom and Transporter. That only leaves Mercedes, the only company that offers the market their own medium-sized van.

What is the New Vauxhall Vivaro all about, and how much does it cost?

It has been announced that the new Vauxhall Vivaro is now available to order with customers able to take delivery later on this year, most likely during the summer. Sources claim that you can get your hands on one of these medium sized vans from £21,240 (CVOTR) but ill be officially announced at the CV Show in Birmingham in April 2019. Good news for the British economy as Vauxhall have announced that the global supply of the new Vivaro will continue to be built in their Luton factory. There will be two load lengths and a total of three different body styles. The larger version will be 5.3m in length with a cargo capacity of an impressive 6.6 cubic metres. Ford extend payment holidays until September

Ford of Britain have decided to extend its offering of six-month payment holidays to new van buyers in a bid to keep customers buying new commercial vehicles during the Covid-19 pandemic. It is called the Ford ‘Peace of Mind’ programme and was initially launched to run through April and May of this year but they soon decided to extend it until the end of June. Premier Commercial Vehicles can now confirm that the programme is set to run until the end of September 2020. The scheme allows customers to defer the first three payments (after they part with the initial deposit) of their finance agreement. Then the following three payments will be covered by Ford in one single payment, capped at £750 - £1,600, depending on which vehicle the customer has.
